Tawi-Tawi is an island province located at the southernmost tip of the Philippines, comprising approximately 390 islands and islets with a total land area of 1,087 sq km. The province shares maritime borders with Sabah, Malaysia to the south and North Kalimantan, Indonesia to the southeast. The provincial capital is Bongao, and the main island features diverse ecosystems including coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds.
